Based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Julio Díaz works primarily as a cinematographer and colorist, while also balancing his craft with projects as a documentary director and photographer. His filmmaking practice stems from a profound fascination with observation and a respect for the everyday, focusing his lens on the invisible and that which deserves to be preserved.

His approach blends the honesty of documentary cinema with an aesthetic sensibility that explores the relationship between reality, memory, and visual language. Through digital processes or the conscious stillness of analogue photography, he seeks to construct images defined by identity, coherence, and a strong human element.

In recent years, his work has been recognized and supported by the CREADOC laboratory on three occasions (2022, 2024, and 2025), notably for his project Sicario, which was also selected for MAFF - Málaga Film Festival (MAFIZ) 2024. In 2025, he directed his first documentary series, CD Valkyrias, and is currently balancing the development of new perspectives in still photography with the direction of his first feature-length documentary for theatrical release, Caminos de Arena.

Julio is open to exploring new narratives and collaborations that share this honest vision of the image.
