Filmed in 2020, Novelera is an 18-minute narrative short film produced by Lucciola Producciones SLU and directed by Willy Suárez. Starring Lorenza Machín Alarcón, Abraham Santacruz, Juani Rodríguez Vera, and Tavi García, the film tells a compelling fiction story set in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Julio Díaz served as the Director of Photography, selecting the RED Epic Dragon 6K paired with vintage Cooke Speed Panchro S2/S3 lenses to craft a rich, classic cinematic look.

The film has achieved significant success on the international festival circuit, winning Best Canarian Short Film at the Lanzarote International Film Festival (FICL), Best University Fiction at the FENAVID Film Festival in Bolivia, and Best Actress for Lorenza Machín Alarcón at the Watersprite Cambridge Student Film Festival in the UK.

Novelera has also earned official selections at prestigious national and international festivals, including Exground Filmfest (Germany), Ca' Foscari Short Film Festival (Italy), Portobello Film Festival (UK), Festival de Cine Español Marseille - Cinéhorizontes (France), Détours en Ciné Court (France), Filmfest Weiterstadt (Germany), and various prominent Spanish festivals such as Mula, Bujaraloz, Asier Errasti, and PILAS en Corto.
